Two films by Eugene Green(2006-09-01) Available on DVD at last with optional English subtitles: The Living World and especially Le Pont des Arts by Eugene Green. A sheer moment of baroque delight (sublime Lamento Della Ninfa by Monteverdi sung by soprano Claire Lefilliâtre and interpreted on-screen by Natacha Régnier in her most moving movie part) in an epical, lyrical, untimely and fundamentally off-the-road mise en scène, halfway between cinema and stage and where art is the meeting point of all extremes and of soulmates. A very unusual cinema therefore that we are delighted to experience and recognize some of the boldest contemporary talent of the time such as Denis Podalydès and Olivier Gourmet but also exalted Alexis Loret, Adrien Michaux, Natacha Régnier, Jérémie Rénier...
